Who is this course for?
An essay is a longer bit of writing and is the standard written form for many academic subjects. Plus its difficult to cope with any programme of academic study without having to be asked to create an essay at some point. If you have always wished to understand how to write a great essay, this program is actually for you; it should allow you to write an essay on just about any subject from GCSE level right as much as very first year in Further or maybe more Education.
It really is worth pointing out, however, you don't have to do the Essay writing course before you are doing the IGCSE English Language or Literature courses. Those courses include instruction and practice in the writing styles and formats for all those subjects (which are not always essays, funnily enough). Though the Essay Writing course will strengthen your talent in analysis, planning and writing of essays and also this may have a knock-on effect on how you think and write in other aspects of life. Most students who take the course say they feel a whole lot more confident about writing as a whole.
As with all my courses for older students you are able to choose to take the course as downloadable pdf files or via a printed book. There are 7 chapters covering every aspect of essay writing and 7 tutor marked assignments to assist you practise your skills. As with all my courses there is unlimited (within reason!) phone and email support.
The length of time does the program take?
It varies. Most students take around 8 months you could get it done more quickly and take longer if you want (there is absolutely no time period limit on any of my courses).
What pace can I go at?
It’s important to go at your own personal pace you are rushing the course, but nor should it be gathering dust on the shelf– you shouldn’t feel. You ought to be feeling comfortably challenged but having a good time (for the most part!).
What if I get stuck?
Make a quick call or email me - i will be here to greatly help! If you have a block about a specific assignment it is usually better to move on utilizing the course and return to it later.
May I type my assignments?
You have dyslexia or some other special requirement), I prefer assignments to be handwritten unless you are likely to get dispensation to type in an eventual exam (so. We can all type more quickly than we can write so typing assignments gives an unrealistic expectation of what you would eventually produce within the exam. I understand the Essay Writing isn’t an exam course, but handwriting is a motor skill you get so it’s important to practise at every opportunity! You will find exceptions, though, so get in contact with me if you are unsure.
Think about special requirements that are educational?
The best thing to accomplish is pick the phone up and communicate with me and tell me the thing you need. Through the years I have helped students with a range of special requirements resulting from dyslexia, Aspergers along with other physical or conditions that are mental get in the way of the capacity to do justice to themselves in English. I can’t promise that I’ll be able to help, but I will if I can help.
